Adapting to motherhood is tough. There, I’ve said it. Nothing quite prepares you for it, and there is no way of knowing how you will feel about it until you are living it.
So many things change for women when they become mothers- they go from knowing who they are and having the tools and skills to manage day to day life, to having to discover a whole new version of themselves. New role, new body, new relationships, new responsibilities, new expectations, new routines, less personal time, less confidence, less control.
All of these changes can bring emotional resilience levels to an all time low, with feelings of overwhelm, stress and anxiety growing in it’s place.
There are many tools derived from CBT, psychology and hypnotherapy that can have a very quick impact to reduce these feelings and bring a person back into a state of balance and ease within themselves.
Nicola has trained in supporting women’s emotional wellbeing during this perinatal window with qualifications in Building Emotional Resilience, Perinatal Anxiety and Trauma Recovery.
